Educational Consultation Terms

These terms apply to remote consultations for people located outside Washington State. You must be 18 or older to book. Consultations for anyone under 18 are booked by a parent or guardian, who also attends. By booking, you accept these terms.

What the consultation is

A remote consultation with Dr. Marty Ross, MD, is educational. He explains how clinicians generally evaluate and manage situations like yours, answers your questions, and suggests questions to raise with your own treating provider.

What it is not

The consultation does not include diagnosis, test ordering, treatment planning, or prescriptions. It does not create a physician-patient relationship. You are not a patient of Marty Ross MD Clinic, and Dr. Ross does not become your treating physician. The consultation is not a substitute for evaluation and treatment by a physician who can examine you and follow your care.

Location

Medical care (diagnosis, test orders, prescriptions) is available only when you are physically located in Washington State at the time of your visit. If you are located anywhere else, the consultation is educational only.

Video

Consultations take place by video on VSee or by phone. Please don’t share sensitive details in the waiting-room chat. If the connection drops, stay in the same video appointment and Dr. Ross will reconnect; if the video platform is down, we will call you or reschedule. No one may record a consultation without permission from everyone present. With your separate written consent, Dr. Ross may use an AI documentation assistant that records the audio to draft his notes; the recording is deleted as soon as the draft is created, and you can say no or ask him to stop at any time. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Payment and cancellation

Current fees are listed on our booking page. Payment is collected by credit card through Square after the consultation is complete. Cancel or reschedule at least one full business day before your appointment: 24 hours, counting Monday to Friday only, so for a Monday appointment cancel by the Friday before. Later cancellations and missed appointments are charged $170.50 for each 15 minutes the appointment was scheduled ($341 for a 30-minute consultation). This cancellation policy applies to every appointment type at the clinic. Payment and insurance details are in our Financial Policy. If Dr. Ross must cancel, we reschedule at no charge.

Records

The clinic keeps a record of your consultation, including what was discussed. Because you are not a patient, it is not a medical record, and we do not share it without your permission. When a written summary is provided, it is educational, not a medical record.
